Blog for Us

We're committed to offering a platform for writers everywhere; we want to work with you and publish your work in a collaborative, respectful environment. We deeply value writers and hope to use this magazine as a vessel for them.

Like our stories, we look for articles and essays that are original and well-written. We especially love pieces about bookish or writerly topics—book reviews and how-to guides for writers are favorites, and we’re always on the hunt for a good, in-depth article about some specific topic that relates to reading/writing (say, a piece that chronicles the history of fanfiction and its pros/cons). This topic can even be interpreted in a more tangential, loose, offbeat sort of way (by writing about, for instance, the evolution of comic book characters, or the best and worst movie adaptations of classic books). You can focus on virtually any form of writing, not just traditional fiction/nonfiction novels—articles about screenwriting, playwriting, and music writing are just as valid and accepted.

Writing about writing not your thing? Don’t worry—we want pop culture articles, too. And articles on politics, social issues . . . articles about what’s happening in the world or your world (or both).

So whether it’s a snarky, tongue-in-cheek review of a popular-but-critically-divisive book, or movie, or TV show; a review of a bookish event happening somewhere in the world; a personal essay about some particular aspect of your life; or a satirical article about the political world, we want to read it. It can be deep and somber, or light and fun—so long as it’s original, so long as you have a strong and interesting perspective, and so long as the writing’s good, it’ll likely work for our blog.
