Advice from a Stranger
The anguish of my loss was epic. I was drained of energy… of movement… of hope. I looked to God, but found only empty space. No reply, no consolation, no answers. I asked a friend. Only platitudes, greeting card phrases.
I watched a television program where tragedy was only compounded by disillusionment. I read a book which reached all the climax and heartache but failed to soothe the pain.
Grief is so hard to endure.
But as I sat quietly forlorn, a stranger touched my shoulder and said: “It’s up to you.”
